MIGRATORY ORAL MICROBIOTA and DISEASES BEYOND THE MOUTH - emphasizing Candida albicans and auris (Mycobiota)

 

• Strep mutans and Candida albicans are symbiotis in caries disease, effectively causing demineralization at a lower pH.
• “One Health” defines our global relationship and interaction with: Ourselves, Animals and the Globe emphasizing our interdependence.
• The number of disease states   associated or caused by an imbalanced microbiota/mycobiota is reflective of our growing application of “Culture - OMICs “ and includes but not limited to : CVD, Adverse Pregnancy Out Come (APO) ,  VAP, COPD, CF, RA, IBD, ColoRectal Cancer (CRC), and Organ Inflammation.
• Leading oral candidates for migration/carcinogenesis include. F nucleatum and Strep mutans where respectively selected sub types are key: F. animalis and polymorphum and S. mutans non C-serotypes, e,k,and f.
• Mechanisms for tumorgenisis for F nucleatum address the FadA mediator which bonds to endothelial cells and increases penetration or leakage of selected invaders (sepsis).  This marker could be a very unique biologic indicator of CRC and be a dental office test, highlighting a growing list of Salivary Markers and Oral microbes associated with cancers, providing a rapid screen.
